Man OH Man!!!!!
So I’m guessing that all of yall have had one of those week where it seemed like everything went how it was supposed to be and then the next week it just straight up suck!!! Yeah well that is how my week ended up. My companion and I knew that this week was going to be a hard week just for the fact that last week was so awesome it couldn’t happen two weeks in a row. Cause God spreads out his miracles so that is how exactly our week went this week.
So Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday we walked and tried to contact people but NO ONE WOULD ANSWER THERE DOORS!!!!!!!!!!!! Not going to lie this week was one of those weeks that missionaries hate. Just nothing goes right and you try your hardest but nothing will go the way you want it or how they should but it’s weird cause I actually love these weeks. I know that it might sound weird but it makes me appreciate the weeks like last week which is just chuck full of miracles. That is the life of a missionary Wednesday was a long day guess how many hours we walked nonstop? 5+ hours of walking nonstop and no one answering we walked our whole area which is small but when you walk it It takes forever. haha
The one thing that made our week So much better is our “dry Mormon" top solid investigator Shawn Beard. We had an awesome lesson and dinner with him on Thursday. We took a member with us, we had dinner and it was food storage rice and chicken. hahah He is huge into food storage but we had an awesome time. The member wouldn’t stop talking which is good and also annoying at the same time ha. after we got done eating we went to the lesson which was about the gospel of Jesus Christ. And we focus more on the baptism part. We feel like he is really ready for a date and we came up with the 30th of March. After dinner when we had the lesson we had to make it short cause of his daughter, it was time for her to go to bed but there was a huge difference in the spirit, Right as I was talking about giving him a date for the 30th the spirit was so strong it was like a cow falling from the sky after it went over the moon! (Aye do you like that analogy a little Texas for ya ) :0 he accepted the date and he is going to pray about the date to make sure. It was so awesome he was telling us about how he is half way done with 1st Nephi. He said that he fell asleep reading the book and he said that if he hadn’t that he would have finished it. He couldn’t stop reading it that right there makes me know for sure that he is feeling the spirit and he is ready.
Friday I went on My first exchange And guess who it was with???? Give up ok?? It was my MTC companion Elder Lopez. It was kinda weird being with him for the first time in a year. We went throughout the day talking about how far we have come and how we are doing. Elder Lopez like to talk about anything and everything. We went to a member’s house to help them move It was funny this guy got so frustrated that he swore every second and we were taking down ceiling fans. hahahaha it was good times.
Sunday was a really good day I feel like I’m already home going to meeting and stuff. We had meeting from 8am until our church started at 12:30pm and we got done at 3:30pm needless it’s a long Sunday. haha. We went to this members house who is less active nd he cook some awesome steaks and ribs. We had a huge feast we had Shrimp, steaks, ribs, salad, potato salad, biscuits it was so good. I got the dad talking and he talk to us forever it was funny you could see the wife and kids saying " dad shut up please" it was funny to watch. But when I got talking with him I found out he was a firefighter as well back when he was younger I can’t believe It.!!!!! I found another one!! and this family is one that the ward wants to focus on so I’m going to focus on them also cause I got along with them so well. Later that night Elder Kuila and I went with the bishopric members and the auxiliary leaders to go visit members. Every Fourth Sunday they go visit members who they are focus on, so I went with the bishop and we all had a lot of success. We found a lot of potential people who all have the husband who are nonmembers and they want their family to get back to church. So we are going to be busy soon I’m way excited :0
I wanted to leave with some funny quotes to remember this week. I got them from a member.
- The difference between a northern fairy tale and a southern fairy tale
The northern one starts with “once upon a time" and the southern
fairy tale starts with " Hey yall aint gunna believe this crap
Okay here are some more spiritual quotes i found this week
- Satan will try to get you to think that your parents are too old and don’t
know what you are going through, as he splits you from your parents
that is where he gets you the most.
- The other one is from the 3 Nephi I think chapter 29 where it states that Christ’s
Church will be named after him and man’s church will be named after man.
I want to leave yall with my little testimony that I know that the church is true. I know that the church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints is the only and true Church on this earth. Its Christ’s church not mans. I know that by reading the Book of Mormon which is another testimony of Jesus Christ. I know that by having a testimony of that and understanding it that Joseph Smith is a true Prophet of God, the church is true and we have a living Prophet on this earth today.
I love yall and be safe.

HALF WAY DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This week I have celebrated my one year mark and man how time has flown. I don’t even think I am from Utah. I think I have this as my home because I’m so use to it so it’s kinda weird but I was excited to celebrate my year mark on Friday!!! It was fantastic. I just got onto my BlogSpot and I found the post about my year mark and I found some pictures that I haven’t ever seen and it made me tear up looking at yall and how that was the day that changed my life forever and it is continuing to change for the better.
Man let me tell you about an awesome week I have had. I have never had a week like this in my entire mission. So let me tell you about it here.
Tuesday I had to go to a district leader training it was for all missionaries that was just made district leaders I had to learn all about being one and how to bless, inspire and uplift the members of the district it was a good training. That afternoon we did some service for an investigator. We had to dig up his lawn and level it out and take an inch out of dirt so we can put new grass in. It is going to be a long process but its fun .Tuesday evening we have basketball at the church for anyone but it is mostly nonmembers who love and want to play ball. Well they are mostly black and they are way too good I’m like a white nerd with them but before we start we share a spiritual message. So I did one on faith and afterwards I sat down and this guy told me to come over and talk with him and he was asking me questions. It was awesome I didn’t play basketball my comp did and others were asking me questions. This one guy named Beto said that he was going to bring his family to church on Sunday and to check it out But he didn’t make it this week but he will next week.
We volunteer at this store called hand me up shop It’s like a D.I. store it is where people donate stuff. We go to help them sort, test and help out it was an awesome time I loved doing it. Afterwards we went to Michael LaBlanc to help him out with his yard again and we had dinner with a member who cuts hair. I’m happy I can keep up my streak with getting a haircut without paying for it I love it so happy.
DONUT SHOP- So this donut shop is were the previous elders go to hang out or when there isn’t a lot going on and they sit down and plan out the rest of their day. So we went there and lately they have been able to teach the workers there, well we went on Thursday and we were intending to meet this one guy named Thomas but we found out that he got fired but the girl who replaced him her name is Simon and she was asking us a lot of questions. We got talking with her and getting to know her and come to find out she is getting married Friday to her boyfriend who is in the air force. Well we asked if we can come back and visit with her and she said yeah. I have been looking for a church and so is my husband and we want to try to figure one out together. So that was awesome and so the next day we went and we came into contact with another lady at the donut shop named Kiristin. She is a very nice lady and come to find out she is gay but she like us because she can talk to us and she needs friends Kinda awkward but o well. But we talked with her and she likes us coming in and doing what we are doing. She even hooks us up with donuts for free at the end of the night so we get a lot of donuts so I feel like a cop hahah so basically our goal is to convert the donut shop hahah just kidding but seriously hahah
Friday was my year mark again and I’m glad I’m over the hump mark all downhill from here baby!!!!!!! it was an awesome day. After district meeting we visited with a less active by the name of Jamie ( hi-me) Lozano this guy is LEGIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I want to be him. He has the life. He is EMT at an oil and gas company and that is his is full time job and also he had his own ambulance company!!!!!!!! JEALOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! I get along a lot with this guy he has everything I want awesome job and life and he has a huge truck what more can you want. He took us out to lunch at a BBQ place and we sat and talk with him for a while I was in heaven man I’m telling you that this is destine for me to be in the emergency services I’m surrounded with people who are. Also I met with a potential family to teach and they have a huge dog. Her name is Dakota and she is a massive dog. Guess how big???? 180 pounds no lie and she is 3 feet tall on her all fours. NO LIE. She is so powerful that she can crush limestone rocks with her teeth. THAT IS POWER but she is scared of little 20 pound puppies kinda weird but awesome. haha
Sunday we had a stake conference broadcasted to New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. It was President Eyring and Elder Scott and a member of the Primary Presidency and a Seventy it was a powerful one and Elder Scott's talk hit me hard it was talking about how we need to respect women really good talk I’ll try to get it for yall .We went to dinner after wards and we were sitting there and I noticed my companion was anxious and he is never like that I knew something was bothering him So we left and he said that we need to visit this one guy. He is a referral that we got into contact with thru voicemail we stop at his house before and left a note and he said that he is really interested. Elder Kuila said we need to go to his house now. SO we went and he was home and we got talking with him AND HE IS A GOLDEN INVESTIGATOR!!!!!!!!!!! He is a dry Mormon. He is practicing all of our beliefs and he has food storage all he needs to be baptized. His name is Shawn Beard and he heard about the church from his friend from another ward. He has already heard the first lesson on the restoration and he understands it and we taught him the plan of salvation and he loves it and understands it. I know for a fact that he will be getting baptized soon. I’m so excited that Elder Kuila followed the promptings of the Holy Ghost and we are so excited because this is new for him and Shawn is our way golden investigator. AHHH THIS IS SO AWESOME THIS IS WHY IM OUT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One last thing. So update on my last area. So Bobbi Jo has asked me when she gets baptized she wants me to baptize her!!!!!!!! AWESOME!!!! And that Justin Swapp is getting baptized I think March 24 by his father in law so I’m way excited for that.
I just want to close with my testimony I have seen so much joy in my life this week so many miracles have happened. I know it is because I am serving a mission at this time that God wants me to be. I know that if we are obedient and diligence and hardworking God is going to bless each and every one of us. I have been blessed so much more than I deserve I don’t know if you can see but I’m loving my life as a Missionary I can’t believe I’m out here and I enjoy every moment. I also couldn’t do it without the Lord’s help and guidance. I have been praying and fasting for success and I have seen it in just one week I know it will continue and I know it is because the love from yall and the pray from all yall. Thank you so much,

1 YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well folks, we did it. We and Elder Christensen have finally made it to the 1 year mark!!!!!!! It is crazy to believe that 1 year ago today we had to make the diffcult task of taking Kendall to the MTC, where we would have to say goodbye for a time and send him away to serve the Lord for 2 years in Houston, Texas. After all the sleepless nights, tears, hugs and goodbyes, I believe that this was the best decision. Yes it has been a struggle for him and for the family, but it is amazing to see the changes and the blessings that have been bestowed upon the us. Now the hard part is over and now we finally look forward to counting DOWN the months instead of up. Thank you to everyone for all your prayers and support for our missionary and we hope that you contiune to do so. We thank you all ever so much.

Hello From Spring Texas!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As all yall have heard I have been transferred :( It was a very, very sad day for me!!! I knew that I was going to get moved but I really didn’t want it to happen. But it made it worse when it was official. All day Wednesday I said goodbye to members. It was hard for me to do that. I was really leaving my ward family. I have grown so much with this ward and they really knew how to take care of me. I was sad that I was going to leave. I just hope that my new ward is going to be the same. The hardest thing for me to do was to say goodbye to the Singers. They have really become my parents and family out here on my mission. It felt like I was saying goodbye to yall again. On Wednesday I got a call at 7:30 in the morning from President Pingree asking if I would be district leader. I was shocked. But I couldn’t say no to president, cause it’s not him giving me this chance, it is God. I was nervous to be a district leader but I know that God doesn’t give us something that we can’t handle.
My new area is called Spring Trails. It’s funny cause in all my areas I have been in, it’s Spring something. My first area was Spring Branch, then Spring Creek, now Spring Trails. I am in the Spring Zone or Spring Stake. I never thought I was going to come up in this area. But God wanted me here. My new companion I love. I FINALLY GOT A POLY COMPANION!!! His name is Elder Kuila ( k-we-la) His is a 6'3, 300 pound Tongan, and he is so awesome. I love him. He is from San Jose California and has lived in Tonga, Hawaii and California. He has had a rough live but he is dedicated to serving the lord and has an awesome testimony. I am very excited to work with him. He is kinda quiet around members but that is how he is. And yes he loves food. He hates small portions. hahahhaha
The area has a lot of potential. We have a lot of investigators that could be baptized within the next 3 months. Which is exciting to hear. Before I left I was just praying that I would be able to see success in my area and bring up the kingdom here in Spring Trails. The bishop in this ward I actually know. It’s funny how I do. Remember how I was telling about a less active named Megan? Well she has been going through a lot and we have tried to work with her. Well she had an incident back in October where she was in the hospital. The bishop was there to give her a blessing. So I am in the exact ward that she was in and now where her ex is in. I thought I was going to get out of that drama but I guess not. But the bishop here is real cool. His name is Michael Myers. He is a real solid guy.
There is a family that are recent converts by the name of Atogiue's ( a tow gwee). Sorry if that doesn’t make sense. They are a poly family from Guam. They are so cool and they love feeding the missionaries. Oh, the coolest thing that I saw when I came in to my apartment was the shelves were stocked with food. I don’t have to pay for groceries for this whole transfer. I’m really excited about that. The one thing that I hate is that we live 5 miles outside of our area. Which sucks. I wish we lived closer and we have a car but we only get 175 miles a week. And we can’t do that. That is so low for the area that we cover. I know our area is small but man it just takes us 10 miles round trip to get home and back. But we will find a way to get around.
I’m sorry that this email is short but it’s just an update about my new area. I love it here and can’t wait to get working hard in it. I am already seeing the blessings that come from working hard. I want to see those blessings every day so I’m trying to work every day to make sure that it’s possible to get those.
Love

YEEE-HAWWWW
Howdy yall!!!!!!!!!!! What’s new with all yall?!
This week was a totally different week than I have ever had Instead of a lot of Teaching appointments we had a lot of SERVICE!
Tuesday and Friday we did service for this member by the name of Larsen's. This is the family that the husband is the firefighter so trust me we go over there a lot. hahah :0 we were helping them build a garden and we had to move a lot of sand and mulch and get it all nice. It has taken us about two weeks to do this but if we wouldn’t have been there to help them they would still be going they are very grateful for our help. This week since they have a lot of extra mulch and sand it was a good opportunity to do some missionary work. On Friday I got a call from sis Larsen saying " Elder Christensen didn’t you grow up on a farm or around farms" and I was like” sorta ya what’s up" she was like " do you know how to back up a trailer" ( ok I have never done that before ) I said yea anyways. So I go over there and the street is so small and narrow and they have a minivan with a flatbed trailer on it. There was no way that either of us would get that thing back up so what we did was we unattached it and we carried and we pushed it up a drive way needless to say it was so heavy and I had to rest it on my leg and I got a huge bruise and my leg but o well I’m a big boy the neighbor was appreciated and it was a good way to use ourselves in a good way she might be a potential soon.
Thursday we did this service for a less active member. Her mother came up to us last Sunday and said that we needed to help her daughter with her yard because she said if she doesn’t get it cleaned up she would be evicted. So we went Thursday and it was horrible it was so nasty and gross. The first thing that she said to us was. " I don’t know what is back here but please be careful" UMM RED FLAG luckily I’m still alive and wasn’t bit by anything but we did 20 huge bags of leaves and we have to do the weeds. IT WAS A FREAKING JUNGLE!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok the worst service of the week was Saturday! We do our usual service on Saturday morning! This one was horrible I mean bad. So what happened was we clean up her yard and she has a lot of cats. She is a cat women and her yard smells so bad. She has 20+ cats inside and a lot outside. So we hurried to do the yard. And right when we got there I almost stepped on something she tried to burry a cat. But the cat was still sticking out of the freaking ground it looked like it was alive when she buried it and it was trying to get out. I was like oh no I not doing this anymore it was so stinky and flies was all over it. Come to find out the owner found it and she said that it was poison needless to say I almost lost my lunch and then she tells us that the next task is to clean up the inside of her house and her house is so bad. I can’t breathe all you smell is the ammonia from the pets PRAY FOR US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So update on Bobbi Jo for this week. So we went over to her house this week and taught her the lesson on the Word of Wisdom we found out that she has a problem of smoking and so does her husband but she said that she will quit. We are letting her quit slowly so we ask her to smoke half of what she would smoke. So this week will be 6 cigs and next week will be 5 and so on. She wants to get married but not until summer and she wants to be baptized soon so it’s going to be a little complicated. We got a call from her Saturday night saying she is in the hospital. She has a growth on her kidney the size of a golf ball. At first she thought it was her gallbladder because she has had problems with it but it was bad on Saturday they went to the hospital. So we visited her yesterday and she was happy to see us and we visited with her and she is doing awesome.
I know this is a shorter letter but that is what happened with me this week. But I wanted to leave with my testimony. Yesterday was fast Sunday and I bore my testimony in church and I bore it on priesthood. I know that we have the priesthood restored on this earth. I’m so grateful for the blessing it is to have it and to use it. But also have it in our family. I know that it blesses us. I’m so grateful for the chance I have to feel the spirit so strong and being able to take heed of those promptings. I know that if we do than we are doing gods will. Yesterday during church do yall remember the family I gave the blessing to the premature daughter? Well she bore her testimony and thanked me for being able to be worth for holding the priesthood and using it. The baby is doing awesome and better than they thought. God has a plan for us and know that if we follow it he will bless us I know that we have a Father in Heaven and I’m grateful for my family. THANK YALL
I love all yall
