Feb 11th Letter

Hello From Spring Texas!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As all yall have heard I have been transferred :( It was a very, very sad day for me!!! I knew that I was going to get moved but I really didn’t want it to happen. But it made it worse when it was official. All day Wednesday I said goodbye to members. It was hard for me to do that. I was really leaving my ward family. I have grown so much with this ward and they really knew how to take care of me. I was sad that I was going to leave. I just hope that my new ward is going to be the same. The hardest thing for me to do was to say goodbye to the Singers. They have really become my parents and family out here on my mission. It felt like I was saying goodbye to yall again. On Wednesday I got a call at 7:30 in the morning from President Pingree asking if I would be district leader. I was shocked. But I couldn’t say no to president, cause it’s not him giving me this chance, it is God. I was nervous to be a district leader but I know that God doesn’t give us something that we can’t handle.

My new area is called Spring Trails. It’s funny cause in all my areas I have been in, it’s Spring something. My first area was Spring Branch, then Spring Creek, now Spring Trails. I am in the Spring Zone or Spring Stake. I never thought I was going to come up in this area. But God wanted me here. My new companion I love. I FINALLY GOT A POLY COMPANION!!! His name is Elder Kuila ( k-we-la) His is a 6'3, 300 pound Tongan, and he is so awesome. I love him. He is from San Jose California and has lived in Tonga, Hawaii and California. He has had a rough live but he is dedicated to serving the lord and has an awesome testimony. I am very excited to work with him. He is kinda quiet around members but that is how he is. And yes he loves food. He hates small portions. hahahhaha

The area has a lot of potential. We have a lot of investigators that could be baptized within the next 3 months. Which is exciting to hear. Before I left I was just praying that I would be able to see success in my area and bring up the kingdom here in Spring Trails. The bishop in this ward I actually know. It’s funny how I do. Remember how I was telling about a less active named Megan? Well she has been going through a lot and we have tried to work with her. Well she had an incident back in October where she was in the hospital. The bishop was there to give her a blessing. So I am in the exact ward that she was in and now where her ex is in. I thought I was going to get out of that drama but I guess not. But the bishop here is real cool. His name is Michael Myers. He is a real solid guy.

There is a family that are recent converts by the name of Atogiue's ( a tow gwee). Sorry if that doesn’t make sense. They are a poly family from Guam. They are so cool and they love feeding the missionaries. Oh, the coolest thing that I saw when I came in to my apartment was the shelves were stocked with food. I don’t have to pay for groceries for this whole transfer. I’m really excited about that. The one thing that I hate is that we live 5 miles outside of our area. Which sucks. I wish we lived closer and we have a car but we only get 175 miles a week. And we can’t do that. That is so low for the area that we cover. I know our area is small but man it just takes us 10 miles round trip to get home and back. But we will find a way to get around.

I’m sorry that this email is short but it’s just an update about my new area. I love it here and can’t wait to get working hard in it. I am already seeing the blessings that come from working hard. I want to see those blessings every day so I’m trying to work every day to make sure that it’s possible to get those.

Love

Elder Christensen
