Oct 21st Letter

Can I get a YEE-HAW!!!!!!!!

How are yall this week? My week was a good week full of things to do and lot of joyful times. I love missions and some of the experiences that happen. So let’s get all yall updated on things that have been going on.

Tuesday was a full day of driving we had temple day for our zone! And we live about an hour away from the temple so we left a little early so we will be able to have time to get there in a good time. That is something that I am getting used to out here anywhere we go it takes us about 30-60 min drive so I know how it feels to travel far distances. But we got to the temple a little early and it was Tuesday and I remember that Darci Singer (the Singers from Spring Creek) works there on that day or Thursday I couldn’t remember but I had a feeling that I needed to look for her so I went out and walk and I saw her walk around the corner and look at me. I was like crap there she goes she comes around the corner and gave me a huge hug!!!!!!! I haven’t seen her or talk to her for a very long time. We sat there talking for a good while, than I had to go but it was way good to visit with her again. Later that night we went to go do some contacting and we went to a potential investigators house. We met Kenya while we were on the computers. She was right next to me and we struck up a conversation. Well she was home and we talked about faith after trials, she opened up to us about some struggles she is going through, and she wants to meet with us so we set an appointment for the next day. But she didn’t show up!!! :( We are not giving up on her though.

Wednesday was a very slow day for us for one thing it was raining alot that day and no one was answering doors for us. So I was driving and all of the sudden I found a muddy back road. I was so happy and I remembered the promise I made that if we found a new investigator I was able to take the truck through mud. So that is what we did for that evening WE WENT MUDDING.  AWWW It felt really good and I got it muddy!!

Thursday was a busy day for us. We had an appointment with an investigator named Bessie. :) I hope yall chuckled like I did for a moment. She is an investigator that has been meeting with missionaries for about oh 15 years according to members. haha But she is a black women that is now bed ridden cause she has horrible health. She loves us but she told us that she can’t meet at church or attend which sucks!!! But that night we were part of what is called stake correlation where the stake pres. mission president Zone Leaders and High council men come together and discuss missionary work. Well up here they go to different ward or branches and have their leaders attend and after they go do visits. So that is where we stayed busy. We met an inactive family and we talked with the dad and he is having a hard time because he doesn’t know if the Book of Mormon is true and same with Joseph Smith.UGH!!! I just don’t understand why you knew it was true when you joined and all of the sudden you don’t know!? I haven’t understood that but he said that we are more than willing to come by and visit with him. We are going to work on him.

I want to end with some miracles that happened this week.

So these miracles happened on Saturday and Sunday. The first was that I had GOAT!!!!!! That was delicious but the real miracles was that the members house we ate goat at we were leaving and we were talking to the member outside and she was a little tipsy I could notice. She stopped right in front of the house and put down her beers and smoked. I couldn’t keep my eyes and mind off of her because that evening before we left we prayed to talk to someone on the street. Well for some reason I knew that this was the girl. She left and I couldn’t find her we went down one part of the road and turned back and headed the opposite direction. Well we get to where our church building is at and there she was across the street praying!! I walked up to her and she was like” oh you caught me praying" I was like” no your fine what are you praying for"? She said that she was praying for guidance. We walked with her and I was talking to her and she mentioned that God puts people in her way to help others. I was like that is us. Well I mentioned about coming to church and she should attend. But she was a little incoherent but we know where she lives. I really think she has a lot of potential.

The next miracle happened on Sunday we had a member come back from her mission and it was her homecoming it was a wonderful talk she gave. She went to the Marshall Islands and then got transferred to Hawaii! I would say lucky but Texas is a lot better. haha but there was a lot of visitors and this one  person came to gospel principles class and we thought she was part of that family. But it was better this guy from California came to Texas to watch the Texas A&M game and he brought his roommates wife who lives in our area to church. Now the member from California is a convert of 2 years and he was like I need to do missionary work so he brought here to church. it was awesome because she is a teacher and know some kids in our branch. Well she is a potential and is busy for the next 2-3 weeks but there is hope!!

I close with that i testify that there is miracles happening in my little branch and that miracles can happen in our lives if and when we are ready for it. We need to show god that we are ready to be taught and that we are ready and living our lives the way we are supposed to live. I know that he puts people in our paths for the benefit of others and us. Right now I’m doing what is called The D&C count down where we ready the Doctrine and Covenants from section 138 to section 1 and that is counting down our days. And I was reading in section 128 where it is talking about baptism for the dead it states in verse 15 that pretty much the salvation of the dead shouldn’t be taken lightly and that we are without the dead and the dead is without us. That can apply to anything we are nothing without Christ in our lives. Without the Holy Ghost, but we are without the ones who influence us. So remember that we are here to influence others and that we need to act according to the way we would if Christ was here. I know this to be true.

I love all yall and I’ll talk with yall soon
